One constant to my work over the years has been posting niche kink that focuses in past the general weight gain and expansion kink sphere. Typically it’s transformation, corruption, smell, and slob for me, which have some popularity but not nearly as much as ‘vanilla’ weight gain. I often see posts by creatives in these spaces saying they enjoy a given sub-kink but don’t want to create art with it as it will drive some of their audience away. Engagement is also a reason why many artists are still on Twitter compared to Bluesky.

I think it’s fairly obvious that my intention with this post is to encourage you all to support and post the kinds of kink you resonate with. Popularity is ephemeral, especially in the online kink spaces, and you can raise quite the following even with niche subject matter. What’s much more important is your dopamine, effort, and enthusiasm economy. Motivation is not something that’s infinite, and if you’re working with a fixation of yours you can create in a way that actually feels engaging and rewarding. Let’s face it; there are lots of things we could be doing to raise money, and generic, traditionally attractive body types are much more popular than even vanilla weight gain kink. We do this because we’ve got the brain goblins for this stuff.

If you want to speak on purely monetary terms, having a larger following can mean more money, but I’ve learned there is a limit to how much work one can take on and that bottleneck means having a more niche audience might not strongly impact your income as a creative. It’s also worth considering that a spread of niche kinks might draw in more attention than a great deal of similar vanilla content, especially if you’re competing for the same pool of attention and money as the other artists in these circles.

Finally, being open with your niche kinks has a feedback effect; you’ll get more attention and work based on what you create, and if you create what you want and like, then you’ll find yourself being encouraged by others to continue to do that. And if you need a break from kink, take it, recharge your batteries. None of this has to define your creative output no matter how much you create.
